The Weekend in Photos

most weekends we have 'crazy' plans. okay not really, but usually something is on the calendar...a birthday party, a babysitter scheduled, a baby shower...you know, something. But this weekend...there was nothing. not even a lawn to be mowed with our winter seed still gestating. and given our empty slates, i even skipped major household cleaning, just cause & it was oh so very nice.

so instead we...
stayed up late friday night working on halloween costumes & watching an america's next top model marathon...the show watching was a mistake...i was so tired the next day. i have 1 week from today to have all costumes complete. eek.

then we planted a new tree in our backyard. i'm really glad i didn't decide to tackle this project by myself. it was hot & it required a big hole. so i happily let scot demonstrate his manhood & stayed inside...nice & cool. i love when he actually 'does' my idea & i just get to enjoy the finished product...shade on the patio. wahoo.

after all that hard work, we did date night with the kiddos...dinner at the farm. it was delish & the weather cooperated so very nicely. the lady, as you can see, got a little camera shy...not sure where that came from...obviously, not me. sunday we capped the weekend off, by heading over to the new temple site to have our family picture taken. i think we will try to do that once a month as it is being built. we are so very excited to have a new temple in our backyard...the lady is especially excited...can you tell?

stay tuned...coming soon::: halloween cupcake toppers for you!

Photo Wall

This wall has been about 9 months in the making...but I am happy to say it is complete. We took the pictures in April, hung 1/2 the wall in June & finally last month my canvas was complete & we got that up & the scroll above it.

phew.

I am so happy with how it turned out. It was for sure a big pain in my rear & probably a bigger pain in my sister's...since she actually did all the work. Seriously, I just got myself & family dressed & bought the frames. She took the pictures. Edited the pictures. And yes, she even framed & hung the pictures.

I know, I am completely spoiled. But there is not a perfectionist more than my sister when it comes to photos & photo walls. So I put her to work! haha.

Anyway, I loved how it turned out. It totally makes the room...until I decide I need new couches.

Thanks Linds.

Family Pics.

My sister has done it again. She has cropped & straightened, moved heads & fixed hair...among a million other edits. She is a miracle worker &
I couldn't be happier!
Is that not 100% him? Man, I am so happy she captured that. I love all his boyishness.
And that? That is the lady. All the way. Her tongue out, curls propped on her ears & a slight sense of hesitation in her eyes. That is her.
Now do you see why I was sad I cut my hair? I sat & looked at these pictures for hours to determine what was going to be ordered & was sad sad sad. But the good news is? I am starting to find my short hair spunk.

On another note, my abs were sore the day after we did these bike pictures. Yes, that would be me in the loser category. Who gets sore abs after 10 minutes of riding on the handles of a bike? Um, apparently me. Note to self: Do more crunches {or do some period}.
And this? I just about died when I saw this. How cute is that little gent?
And for the record, the Lady now prefers her dad to anyone. If he is around, she wants absolutely nothing to do with me. I'm not sure who is more happy...me or Scot. Regardless, it is pretty dang cute to see her eyes light up when he walks through the door.

My prints should be here this week...
and my sister will be arranging & hanging the moment they arrive.
Thanks Linds!
