Anyway, as my own thoughts have started to turn to this, I figured perhaps yours too. So as I drum around ideas as to what to wear {the #1 question my sister gets asked} here is my first inspiration board on the matter.
A few things I have learned over the years when it comes to dressing a family for family photos...
- Do not wear jeans & white shirts. Please. I know we all have a million of these pictures already anyway. Typically a photographer will tell you not to wear white shirts period. They reflect the light onto your face, making you look washed out. The white is also hard to edit around -- a lot of times it gets 'blown out.' Which is code for over bright, or glowy. {if you are putting a cardigan over it...go ahead}
- You do not need to be matchy-matchy. You can have a variety of colors & patterns, but need a few solids to anchor it.
- If you are all going to be in jeans, make sure they are the same hue. So no acid wash with dark washes, okay? Same goes for tan pants.
- Add texture to your picture with your clothes. Ruffles, knits, corduroy...they add interest without competing with your patterns.
- Think about where you might be hanging it in your house...and dress to compliment.
Let me know if there is a particular color you are interested in wearing & perhaps I'll get a board for it.
