These are a few of my Favorite Things...

I've had a few things popping into my head that I should share with you...products, places, things that I have randomly come across & come to love.  So every once and a while you will see this post of 'favorite things'.  To get it started...this book:

A year or two ago, I came across this book.  I think I saw it on TV somewhere...maybe even Oprah?   Not sure.  But I remember getting on my computer immediately & ordering it since Father's Day was just around the corner.  I know, it's not going to help you this year for Father's Day, but I'm sure you can drum up an occasion.

I love this book because 1} my husband is not a reader & he actually reads this.  2} It is chock full of tips, tricks, how-tos & things to do.  Things I would never think of or know nothing about.

Each 'chapter' is a page or two depending on the subject, but it covers how to make the best paper airplane, 5 poems every boy should know, how to build a tree house {with pictures & supply lists}, how to treat a girl {this one is good!}, knots to know, fishing, how to build a bow & arrow...you know everything a boy should know!

I love that it embraces being a boy.  Being dirty, inquisitive & sometimes making a mess.  It embraces all that I want boyhood to be.  Playing outside & not being afraid of trying new things.  It doesn't involve a computer, TV or phone. I love it.

As they say, "Recapture Sunday afternoons & long summer days."  I know we are nearing the end of summer, but its true.

And don't worry...they have one for girls too.  I can't personally vouch for this one, but based on the boy version I am sure the Lady will own a copy.  The website gives this insight:
